[REVIEW] Avatar
This is a prequel to the movie version and tells a different story...
Avatar takes place on a moon called Pandora, Pandora is the only known place to harvest a rare mineral "unobtanium" so rare its worth almost anything to get your hands on it! This is a prequel to the movie version and tells a different story...
The inhabitants of Pandora include Huge Carnivores, plants and an enemy race called the "Na'vi" pronounced " Narr-vee". You can choose to play as the Na'vi or the RDA (militairy), the na'vi campaign is a melee campaign like "God of War" and the RDA campaign is a Third Person Shooter. Both Campaigns span for around 4-6 hours each. If you play as the RDA youll be able to use veichles From time to time which is pretty cool. The melee side of the game is not that great it's repetetive and lacks any style aswell as having annoying camera angles!
Overall both campaigns are very similar and youll end up doing similar things on each, the RDA campaign is slightly better than the na'vi counterpart. The jungle does look nice which helps you get over the bad animations. It does have a "leveling" system but it automatically chooses your unlocks, which are barley noticable! The average joe wouldnt complete both campaigns infact they would get bored of just one! so when youre bored you play................MULTIPLAYER!
The Multiplayer is nothing special and consists of the basic game modes, DeathMatch, CTF, Attack and Defend etc you wont play long with games like MW2, L4D2 and ODST out!
3D: This game does have the ability to play in 3D but youll require some hardware - Youll need to hook your 360 up to your 3D compatible 1080p, 120 Hz TV via HDMI (These items will cost you a fortune!) then you put on your glasses and..............................................................Get distracted from the actual game and pay more attention to little things flying out and re adjusting your glasses. ( Having said this i never played in 3D mode, but ive read many reviews!) Ill some up 3D in a sentenced compiled by many reviews
"Its cool and something new however you need expensive hardware and youll probaly end up playing it normal after the glasses fall off for the 100th time!"
I give this game a small 4 out of 10 " Dont ask for Avatar this christmas"

Re: [REVIEW] Avatar
Who gets rep? I don't know if any of you realize but GOW sometimes has set camera angles when you enter a room or fight a boss. Ninja Gaiden is purely from right behind the caracter. So to answer harbringer, no not all third person games are the same. Also GOW is considered by many to be the best series on the ps2, the best selling system of last generation.

its not so much the computers its the people that do it and the programs they do it with. Animators get paid alot of money becuase what they do is fricken insane. The programs they use are top quality which unless your like pixar and make your own programs your gonna have to buy the expensive ones to cater the animators needs. Does anyone know exactly what programs these guys used?
This movie is also in 3D and to make it that more special these guys got there own custom made cameras to shoot the film. Virtual camera its called other movies would use the performance system where the digital stuff was added after the people were filmed. The custom camera allows James Cameron (the director) to observe directly on a monitor what is going on both humans and digital environment.
I would love to see the making of this movie, if anyone has some video links please send them this way and im talking about the movie not the game i dont wanna see any of that.James Cameron says: "It’s like a big, powerful game engine. If I want to fly through space, or change my perspective, I can."
Re: [REVIEW] Avatar
you may have said about it already but he also got a new program that mimiks the exact expresion on an actors face and places it on the cg character, because sam worthington plays as a cg character most of the time

Re: [REVIEW] Avatar
I heard that the computers have large screens which probably make them large and maybe it even makes them cost more.
